AppDancer Networks Adds Enterprise Application Monitoring and Analysis to AppDancer/FA and Announces Special NetWorld+Interop Pricing

Roswell, Georgia, USA, May 2, 2002 – AppDancer Networks, Inc., a new networking software company based in Roswell, Georgia, will make two major announcements concerning its AppDancer/FA product, the world’s first Network Flow Analyzer software product, at NetWorld+Interop 2002 Las Vegas, May 7-9, 2002. NetWorld+Interop is the world’s premier education and interactive event forum for technical professionals responsible for network and IT strategies from large enterprise and service provider organizations.

First, AppDancer Networks will announce Release 2.0 of its AppDancer/FA flagship product, including Enterprise Application Monitoring and Analysis, a significant enhancement. This capability will allow network managers or data base administrators for the first time to monitor user transactions for Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle Server. AppDancer/FA will display top down application logic for each such transaction via its unique Application Flow Ladder Views and Application Content Views. These views are unavailable in any competitive product. Exchange Server and SQL Server support will be available for customer shipment the first week of June, and Oracle Server support will be available the first week of August.

In Las Vegas AppDancer Networks also will announce special AppDancer/FA retail unit pricing of US$2,495 for all orders received through June 30, 2002. Included in the price is a free upgrade to Release 2.0, including Enterprise Application Monitoring and Analysis, as soon as it is available. AppDancer/FA is available directly from AppDancer Networks and from authorized resellers throughout North and South America, Europe, and the Pacific Rim.

AppDancer/FA, the first totally redesigned network monitoring software tool in seven years, is really three products in one:

  • It monitors key network applications, including WWW (web), POP (incoming email), SMTP (outgoing email), FTP (file transfers), DNS (domain name server), and voice/multimedia. In addition to passive monitoring of actual network traffic, the software actively monitors network activity via self-generated synthetic transactions.
  • It monitors network devices (i.e., routers, switches, hubs, etc.) via SNMP, CLI (command line interface), and Cisco IOS commands.
  • It monitors, captures, and analyzes network data (much like a traditional protocol analyzer).

AppDancer/FA was recently named a Finalist in the Network Management category of the Best of Interop Awards competition by CMP Media’s Network Computing, InformationWeek and EE Times. The winners will be selected at NetWorld+Interop 2002 Las Vegas, on May 7, 2002.
